Suspect Charged In Deadly Stabbing Of 32-Year-Old Trenton Man: Prosecutor

A suspect has been arrested in connection to last month’s deadly stabbing of a 32-year-old Trenton man, authorities said.

Luis Bonilla, 20, was charged with murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said Friday.

The victim, Leonardo Fernandez, was found with several stab wounds to the torso as officers responded to the 500 block of Whittaker Avenue just after 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 23, DailyVoice.com reported.

Fernandez was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center and pronounced dead.

Bonilla, of Trenton, was taken into custody on Tuesday. A motion has been filed to detain him pending trial.
